| Property Owners InformationMembers - please read. Feb 11, 2006 - I started this site in 2001 as a project for myself with suggestions from other owners at at the community. My goal was to have a site we could all be proud of. This is what I could contribute to the community to benefit all of us. In 2002 I was requested by the board members of the Property Owners Association to add minutes and notices to this site for the purposes of getting information out in a timely and modern fashion. This was done by me without ever charging the association for anything. I have tried to make this site something we could all share and be proud to call part of the community. For the last couple of years I was never contacted by the current board with new information or discussions about my site. Until on February 11th, 2006 I get a certified letter from the Melrose Landing Property Association threatening me with a lawsuit to remove the meeting notices and any email addresses for the association. So I graciously removed this information and just let the insult run off my back. Nice going guys! Very professional, and nice of you too. Is this the way you treat people trying to help the community? Was it too hard to email me or call me to say the board voted to remove this information from my site and kindly ask me to remove it? NOT! Feb 16, 2006 - I was served with another certified letter from the airpark president requesting that I remove all information on airpark minutes, meetings and the landing permit. Funny but the president stated in the letter that she tried to contact me several times. I wonder when and how she tried? I never got any communiqué preceding the certified letter. I removed the information as she requested. I never knew that the current board voted down the landing permit that protects us all as owners. Florida statutes requires that any non owners using the airport have permission to fly into a private airport. This form was a good thing, it would automatically document the fact that the guest had permission to cover this statute and protect us all in the event of a lawsuit. No documentation of this nature now exist. If anyone that is not an owner at Melrose ever has an accident and decides to sue we are all liable for damages. No matter if it is their own fault or not. We would be responsible for lawyer fees, court cost and any and all damages that the current insurance policy will not cover. Insurance policies today would in no way cover all possible damages. Is this worth losing your property over? Feb 21, 2006 - Again, served with another certified letter from the Melrose Landing Property Association ordering me to remove basically every page on my site that even talks about Melrose Landing. And again, threatening me with a lawsuit. Well enough is enough! Why does our current board resort to Gestapo tactics instead of conversation and discussion? What have I ever done to anyone but try and help the community at large. I just don't understand what is going on there nor why I am all of a sudden being singled out. After several board changes of which I am not totally aware, information to owners not living there has basically dried up. We don't even get meeting notices any more. I have complied with their request to remove association information from my site. May I suggest that if you want an informative website then let your board members know. |
