M20C / 1995 M20J This aircraft has been modified to the M20J configuration. It is one of the best examples of what can be done with any Mooney. There has been over $150,000.00 invested in all the modifications and TLC of this airplane plus countless hours of manual labor. All components have been replaced with NEW where possible and when new was not available they have been rebuilt and upgraded by the best shops. Both fuel tanks were resealed by the owner which took a total of 12 weeks for the right side and 6 weeks for the left side. This is the only real correct way to do this job. Plastic scrapers fashioned out of Plexiglas is used to scrape out the old sealer and then use scotch brite pads and MEK to remove all residue. Then, its resealing them from scratch with the correct PRC sealants. pictures are available of this work. Almost all AD's on this model have been eliminated by upgrading the component to its M20J replacement part where possible. For example, the inspection of the control yoke shafts have been eliminated by replacing them with the thicker walled M20J control shafts. The engine mount inspection AD was eliminated by welding the factory available gussets in place. Updates to all wear specific parts have been done such as replacing the nose gear steering horn with the updated Mooney factory part. The new fuel injected Lycoming engine was installed as the final modification to complete the conversion to essentially an M20J Mooney. This ship has received extensive TLC and has been in a constant state of maintenance and care. You will not find any aircraft that has been meticulously maintained as this. You may ask, why is he selling??? Well since owning the ship since 1983, over 22 years, its time to move on and get something bigger and faster and start my hobby of mods and upgrades all over again. |
